What are we looking for?

To further develop the Factory & Logistic Automation (FLAS) Segment in Europe, BEA is looking for a Head of FLAS Europe that will own and drive the current diversification business (Security sensors and Traffic & Transportation solutions) and focus on developing the Factory & Logistic Automation business in Europe. To achieve this goal, BEA is looking for an international talent that has a strong sales and technical background, with a high sense of entrepreneurship. Given the strategic importance of this role, this function reports directly to the Managing Director of BEA Europe & Asia.

What will be your main responsibilities & key deliverables:

  • Business Strategy: The Head of FLAS Europe will need to deeply understand the FLAS market, work closely with BEA’s existing strategic partners and be able to articulate a clear strategy in term of products, pricing, go-to market – driving business development and enabling business growth in Europe.
  • Business Development: In addition to the existing relationships and projects with BEA’s partners, the Head of FLAS Europe works to add complementary activities to the FLAS portfolio. Not only in terms of new customers and new projects, but potentially also adding new partners, or even acquisitions. He/she will autonomously identify new opportunities, analyze them, prioritize them, and drive the entire processes around decision making, implementation, and follow-up.
  • Business Growth: As the business evolves, the Head of FLAS Europe will build out a team to drive profitable growth. (Currently direct management of 1 Customer Officer + future prospect to build out a team) This includes attracting, developing, and retaining people with the right profiles, and structuring the team and its activities with a focus on continuous improvement.

  • While being a team player, within the Business Development part of the role, he/she is autonomous in his/her work and has an inner drive to tackle new challenges and opportunities.
  • You have a problem-solving mindset with a sense of organization and structure while being rigorous and methodical in your approach.
  • Good time & priority management for working on a variety of projects simultaneously.
  • Your ability to prioritize actions and goals leads to successfully progress opportunities (sales, projects, partnerships, …) along the pipeline.
  • You have excellent written and verbal communication skills to deliver key messages to internal and external audiences, including C-Suite.
  • Your interpersonal skills include empathy for peers, direct reports, and customers – combined with a high sense of integrity.

YOUR PROFILE

  • MBA or graduate degree in a Management, Technical or Engineering field.
  • Strategic thinker with proven track record in developing new business/markets while dealing in a complex commercial environment where you will sell products through various channels (OEM, Distributors, System Integrators).
  • Experience in building, managing, and coaching a team (currently direct management of 1 Customer Officer + future prospect to build out a team).
  • M 5 years of working experience in the Factory Automation Industry in a position as sales engineer, business development or key account management.
  • Solid technical background, ideally with an affinity for safety sensors (radar, infrared, laser, …) or experience in selling “Machine safety” related products (complying to IEC61508; EN62061; EN13849, …) is also a plus.
  • Self-motivator and entrepreneurial mindset with an interest for starting up and growing business activities.
  • Excellent language skills, both oral and written in English and German, French is a plus.
  • Willing to travel about 50% of the time within Europe.
