IP Officer

BEA is looking for an Intellectual Property Officer to oversee and manage the organization’s intellectual property assets in a way that maximizes their value and protects them from infringement or misuse. This includes protecting and exploiting the organization’s intellectual property, such as patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets, to maximize their value and minimize the risk of infringement.

In addition, you are responsible for maintaining and updating the organization’s intellectual property records and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations related to intellectual property.

The IP officer reports directly to the IP manager of the company with the goal to enlarge and fasten our IP activities whilst continuing to build our long-term strategy in parallel.

YOUR MISSION

As an intellectual property officer for BEA Group, the main mission consists, together with the IP manager, in driving all the IP activities of the group and in particular:

  • Develop & protect the organization’s intellectual property assets, such as patents, designs, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets.
  • Ensure that the organization is not infringing on the intellectual property rights of others.
  • Manage any disputes or litigation related to intellectual property.
  • Maintain and update the organization’s intellectual property records.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations related to intellectual property.
  • Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders within the organization to align intellectual property strategies with overall business goals (R&D, PMO, Product Management…).

YOUR QUALITIES & SKILLS

  • You are an industrial or civil engineer demonstrating technical versatility with an interest in intellectual property activities, or you have a master’s degree in law with confirmed experience in IP within an industrial/technological environment.
  • You have at least a first experience in strategic and legal aspects related to intellectual property (patents, trademarks, designs…) or similar.
  • You have a very good knowledge of the spoken and written English and French languages, German, Chinese or Japanese is a plus.
  • You demonstrate inventiveness and writing skills while maintaining a critical and pragmatic mind.
  • You are rigorous, methodical, organized, autonomous and work easily within a team, understanding quickly the constraints and needs of each party.
