The overall mission of the Segment Manager LAS is to further develop BEA Europe’s activities in the Logistics Automation Solutions (LAS) segment. The ambition is to create an additional strong contributor to profit growth for BEA Europe.

The mission of the Segment Manager LAS consists of 3 elements: farming, hunting, and building.


The Segment Manager LAS takes the lead on the existing relationships and projects in the LAS segment. This includes being the BEA SPOC and relationship manager. Working together with all relevant other departments within BEA, the Segment Manager LAS helps to ensure alignment and focus of everyone involved, to realize the current ambitions and further expand them.


In addition to the existing relationships and projects, the Segment Manager LAS works to add additional activities to the LAS portfolio. This not only in terms of new customers and new projects, but potentially also new partners, and even acquisitions. The Segment Manager LAS autonomously identifies potential new opportunities, analyses them, prioritizes them, and drives the entire processes around decision making, implementation, and follow-up.


As the business grows, the Segment Manager LAS will build a team around them to fully realize the profit potential. This includes attracting, developing, and retaining people with the right profiles, and structuring the team and its activities optimally. This also includes creating and updating the necessary documentation and processes, in line with the others within BEA Europe and BEA at large.


  • Master of Business Administration or graduate degree in a Management, Technical or Engineering field.
  • 5 years of experience working in a sales engineer or business development role.
  • Solid scientific background, ideally with an affinity for sensors (radar, infrared, laser, …).
  • Self-motivation and interest for starting up and growing business activities.
  • Ability to work independently, demonstrating high initiative and being hands-on.
  • Experience in building, managing, and motivating a team.
  • Ability to prioritize actions and goals and to successfully progress opportunities (sales, projects, partnerships, …) along the pipeline.
  • Articulate individual who can relate to people at all levels of an organization and possesses strong influencing skills, sound judgement, and initiative.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to deliver key messages to internal and external audiences including the C-Suite.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including strong empathy for peers, direct reports, and customers.
  • Adaptability and openness to changing processes when it’s right for the team, the organization, and the customers.
  • Strong competencies in administrative management, budgeting, planning, cost management.
  • Instinctively documenting the processes that underpin the business; structure is a must and is applied every day.
  • Organized, professional with high integrity.
  • Excellent language skills, both oral and written (EN-GE-FR).
